Valley Rock Investment (Pty) Ltd, (VRI) is a Level 1 B-BBEE entity which is based in Mokopane. VRI is currently in the business of processing waste rock material into various aggregate products for their clientele.
VRI’s focus is in developing youth through skills upliftment and empowering women and the disabled marginalized community. The aim is to increase economic participation of the previously marginalised.

Black Empowerment
Valley Rock Investments supports and upholds the values of Black Economic Empowerment. The enterprise is 100% black-owned business. It is fully owned and managed by Previously Disadvantaged Individuals from the previously disadvantaged areas across. The entity employs local people and engages in the capacity building of people that are trained in various aspects in the operation of the plant, safety measures as well as the general administration of the entity. The training offered is, where applicable sourced from the construction industry on accredited courses by Mineral and Qualifying Authority including Minerals Technology of South Africa
Local Economic Development
The construction industry is a key indicator and driver of economic activity and wealth creation. The business works hand in hand with local contractors and institutions in providing services that improves infrastructural development in the area. The aim is to leverage Valley Rock Investments’ deep and broad knowledge and skills to accelerate success of local contractors thus leading to more job creation and greater income realisation by the local people.
Skills Development
The construction industry needs to think more creatively about skills acquisition and employment equity and embark on a multi-pronged strategy. Valley Rock Investment believes that importing skills at a significant cost is a short-term solution, and therefore strives to empower local people by insourcing and in-house training and encourages this as a way of accelerating skills development and a long-term solution for skills development.
